Claude Naver Pay payments: unavailable for web subscriptions, through the store for app subscriptions, and on the Korean-won checkout page for API top-ups (October 2026)

Whether you can pay for Claude with Naver Pay depends on what you are paying for. You cannot use Naver Pay when subscribing to Pro or Max on the web at claude.ai. For subscriptions through the iPhone app, you can select Naver Pay as an App Store payment method. For the Claude API and Claude Code (using an API key), you can top up with Naver Pay starting at $10 on Kunavo's payment page in Korean won (₩). This article focuses specifically on Naver Pay: limits that vary depending on whether you pay with a linked card, Money, or points; what to do when the payment window does not appear or a payment is declined; and refunds. The payment information is current as of October 3, 2026, with supporting documents linked alongside it.

Short answer: Can you pay for Claude with Naver Pay?

• claude.ai web subscription (Pro/Max): No. Anthropic은 웹에서 산 구독에는 신용카드나 직불카드만 받는다고 안내하고(Billing FAQ, 2026년 7월 13일 수정본, October 3, 2026 확인), PayPal·Venmo 같은 제3자 결제 처리업체는 받지 않습니다(Payment-method information). 네이버페이 같은 간편결제는 웹 구독 결제 수단에 들지 않습니다.
• iPhone app subscription: Yes, through an App Store payment method. 앱에서 구독하면 App Store가 결제를 처리하고 결제 수단도 스토어가 정합니다(Billing FAQ). Apple의 한국 결제 수단 목록에 Naver Pay가 있습니다(Apple payment methods list, 2026년 8월 6일 게시).
• Android app subscription: Check the payment screen. Google Play는 네이버페이를 ‘앱과 디지털 콘텐츠’ 구매 수단으로 받지만, 정기 결제에 쓸 수 있다고 따로 밝힌 수단은 Google Play 잔액이고 네이버페이를 구독에 쓸 수 있는지는 적혀 있지 않습니다(Google Play payment methods, October 3, 2026 확인). Claude 구독 결제 화면에 네이버페이가 뜨는지 직접 보셔야 합니다.
• Claude API and Claude Code (API key): use Kunavo. Kunavo is an independent API gateway that lets you use Claude and GPT with one key and one prepaid balance. When Stripe Checkout is displayed in Korean won, Naver Pay appears among the payment methods, and you top up in advance from $10. There is no monthly fee, balances do not expire, and failed requests are not charged.

The balance purchased with Naver Pay in the fourth route is a Kunavo API balance. There is no way to convert this balance into claude.ai Pro/Max or Anthropic Console credits, or use it to pay for ChatGPT Plus or OpenAI credits. Creating a Kunavo account is completed without a payment method, and you choose Naver Pay at the first top-up.

Using Naver Pay for app subscriptions (App Store and Google Play)

iPhone에서는 Apple 계정의 결제 수단에 Naver Pay를 추가하면 App Store 구입과 구독에 쓰입니다(Apple payment methods list). Google Play는 조건이 하나 더 있습니다. 네이버페이를 Google Play 결제 수단으로 등록하려면 본인 명의 휴대전화로 ARS 인증을 거쳐야 하고, 본인 명의 휴대전화가 없으면 등록할 수 없습니다. Google Play에서 네이버페이로 결제할 때 계정이 폐쇄되었다는 문구가 나오면 위험 거래로 판단돼 일시적으로 제한됐을 수 있으니, Google Play에 등록한 네이버페이 결제 수단을 지웠다가 다시 등록하고, 그래도 안 되면 Npay 고객센터(1588-3819)에 문의하라고 네이버페이는 안내합니다(ARS verification information, Account-closure wording information, October 3, 2026 확인). 앱 구독의 환불은 스토어 규정을 따르고, 스토어별 절차는 Paying for Claude with KakaoPay의 구독 항목에 정리했습니다.

This is different from ‘Naver Pay international payment’

네이버가 ‘해외결제’로 소개하는 것은 해외 제휴 가맹점에서 QR로 결제하는 서비스입니다. 보유한 머니·포인트가 현지 통화로 자동 환전돼 따로 환전할 필요가 없다는 내용이고(Naver press release, 2024년 10월 2일), 해외 웹사이트에서 온라인으로 결제하는 것과는 다른 서비스입니다.

Kunavo 충전은 그 서비스를 거치지 않습니다. Kunavo의 요금은 달러로 정해져 있고, Stripe가 결제 화면에서 원화로 바꿔 보여 줍니다. 네이버페이를 고르면 Stripe가 구매자를 Stripe의 한국 현지 처리 파트너에게 보내 결제를 인증·승인하게 한 뒤 Kunavo로 돌려보냅니다(Stripe Naver Pay documentation, October 3, 2026 확인). 네이버페이 창에서 승인하는 금액은 원화이고, 달러를 원화로 바꾸는 일은 그 전에 Stripe 결제 화면에서 끝나 있습니다.

그 원화 금액에는 Stripe의 환전 수수료 2~4%가 들어 있습니다(Stripe Adaptive Pricing documentation, October 3, 2026 확인). 네이버페이 쪽에서 보면 이 수수료까지 합친 원화 금액이 결제 금액이므로, 아래 머니·포인트 한도(200만 원, 계좌 간편결제 미등록 시 50만 원)도 수수료를 포함한 금액으로 따져야 합니다. 달러로 내면 수수료는 없지만 그때는 네이버페이가 아예 선택지에 없습니다. 해외 결제 카드로 달러 결제할 때와 비교하는 방법은 Paying for Claude with KakaoPay의 환전 수수료 항목을 보세요.

How to top up Kunavo with Naver Pay

1. Choose a tier after signing up. Complete sign-up, then choose one of the dollar-denominated tiers ($10, $100, $1,000, $5,000) on the Billing screen. Larger tiers receive bonuses ($100 충전 시 잔액 $110, $1,000 충전 시 잔액 $1,200, $5,000 충전 시 잔액 $6,250); if you plan to pay with money or points, review the limits table below before choosing a larger tier.
2. Confirm that the amount is in Korean won (₩). Stripe는 네이버페이 결제를 원화로만 받습니다(Stripe Naver Pay documentation). 결제 화면 금액이 ₩로 보여야 네이버페이가 목록에 나옵니다.
3. Select Naver Pay and authenticate in the payment window. 결제 수단 제공사나 Stripe의 현지 처리 파트너 결제 창으로 넘어가 로그인하고 인증합니다. Stripe는 한국 결제 수단을 구매자가 직접 인증하는 방식(Customer-authenticated)으로 분류합니다(Stripe Korean payment guidance).
4. Choose the payment source. Pay with a card linked to Naver Pay, Naver Pay Money, or Naver Pay Points. Stripe also says that points can be used for payment. The differences are summarized in the table immediately below.
5. Return to Kunavo. After authorizing in the Naver Pay window, Stripe returns you to Kunavo, and this top-up is recorded in the Billing screen's top-up history in dollars.

Linked card, money, or points—which should you use?

The amount you can pay at once and when the money returns after cancellation depend on what you use inside Naver Pay. The following reproduces the guidance in Stripe's documentation and the Naver Pay Help Center (checked October 3, 2026).

• ※1 Stripe는 연결 카드로 내는 결제에는 최대 금액이 없고, 최소 결제 금액은 100원이라고 안내합니다(Stripe Naver Pay documentation). 네이버페이의 수단별 한도에서도 신용카드는 ‘한도 없음’이며, 수단별 한도는 사용자가 정한 한도 설정보다 먼저 적용됩니다(Naver Pay payment limits).
• ※2 카드 간편결제에 등록할 수 있는 카드는 신한·삼성·현대·BC·국민·롯데·씨티·하나·농협·카카오뱅크·우리카드(BC 계열 포함)입니다(Cards that can be registered with Naver Pay).
• ※3 계좌 간편결제를 등록하지 않았다면 포인트와 머니를 한 번에 각각 50만 원까지, 등록했다면 각각 200만 원까지 쓸 수 있습니다. 2019년 특정금융정보법 개정에 따른 제한입니다(Using Naver Pay points and money).
• ※4 머니 보유 한도는 계좌 간편결제를 등록했다면 200만 원, 등록하지 않았다면 50만 원이고, Npay 머니 통장을 연결하면 보유 한도가 없습니다. 그래도 한 번에 쓸 수 있는 머니는 200만 원까지이고, 200만 원 이상은 다른 결제 수단과 함께 내는 복합결제로 안내합니다(Naver Pay Money limits). 연결 계좌로 머니를 충전할 때는 최소 1만 원, 한 번에 200만 원, 한 달에 1,000만 원까지입니다(Naver Pay information).
• ※5 포인트는 마지막으로 적립하거나 쓴 날부터 10년간 유효하고 현금으로 인출할 수 없습니다(Naver Pay information). 2022년 11월 3일 적립포인트가 ‘Npay 포인트’로, 충전포인트가 ‘Npay 머니’로 이름이 바뀌었습니다.
• 취소 시점은 네이버페이가 가맹점 결제 취소에 대해 안내한 기준입니다(Naver Pay refund information). 환불은 아래 ‘환불’ 항목을 함께 보세요.

머니와 포인트를 합쳐도 모자라면 네이버페이는 결제 금액에 맞춰 1만 원 단위로(최소 1만 원) 머니를 충전한 뒤 결제합니다. 5만 5천 원이면 6만 원을 충전하는 식이고, 충전하고 남은 금액은 머니로 남아 Npay 홈 > Npay 머니 > 송금으로 보낼 수 있습니다(Naver Pay top-up payments). 포인트를 아껴 두고 싶다면 Npay > 설정 > 포인트·머니 사용 순서에서 ‘머니 우선 사용’으로 바꿀 수 있습니다(Naver Pay information).

Top-ups in 10,000-won increments, the order of use, and splitting payments for amounts exceeding 2 million won with other payment methods are rules Naver Pay provides for merchant payments generally. We have not confirmed that they work identically in a payment window opened through Stripe, so follow what is shown in the payment window.

When a limit applies

• Large top-up tier. The largest tier ($5,000) exceeds 2 million won when converted to Korean currency, so it cannot be paid at once using only money or points. If account-based easy payment is not registered, the limit is 500,000 won, so $1,000 also exceeds it. Pay with a card linked to Naver Pay or choose a smaller tier.
• A payment limit set manually. 네이버페이 보안설정에서 1회·1일 결제 한도를 정해 두었다면, 그 금액을 넘는 결제는 이용할 수 없습니다. Npay > 페이설정 > 결제/송금 보안설정 > 결제 한도에서 바꿉니다(Naver Pay information).
• Members under 19 years old. 디지털 콘텐츠를 포함해 하루 50만 원, 한 달 200만 원까지 결제할 수 있습니다(Naver Pay information).
• Global members (foreign nationals). 네이버페이 글로벌회원은 해외 카드사가 발급한 신용·체크카드로만 결제할 수 있고, 카드 한도와 별개로 네이버페이에서 한 달 500만 원까지입니다(Naver Pay information). 그 해외 카드는 Kunavo 결제 화면에서 카드로 바로 내도 됩니다.

When Naver Pay is missing or payment does not work

• The payment-screen amount is displayed in dollars ($). Stripe는 네이버페이 결제를 원화(KRW)로만 만들 수 있어서, 결제 화면이 달러로 열리면 네이버페이 버튼이 생기지 않습니다(Stripe Naver Pay documentation). 해외 서버를 거치는 VPN을 끈 채 Billing에서 결제 화면을 새로 열고, 통화 선택을 달러로 바꿔 둔 적이 있으면 ₩로 돌린 뒤 결제 수단 목록을 다시 보세요.
• Payment was blocked as an ‘unusual transaction’. 네이버페이는 위험 거래로 판단한 결제와 송금을 제한하고, 해제는 Npay 안전거래센터(1588-3816)에서 명의자 본인만 요청할 수 있습니다(Naver Pay information).
• It was declined because the limit was exceeded. Check whether it hit the security-setting limit, the money or points limit, or the limit for users under 19.
• The linked card was declined. Contact the card issuer about the reason for the authorization failure; meanwhile, you can try paying with money or another linked card.
• Only points and money are declined. 네이버페이는 상품권 같은 환금성 상품에는 포인트와 머니를 쓸 수 없을 수 있다고 안내합니다(Naver Pay information). 선불 API 잔액이 여기에 해당하는지는 확인하지 못했습니다. 이럴 때는 연결 카드로 내세요.
• You authorized in the Naver Pay window but did not return to Kunavo. The payment may still have completed even if the window closed or stopped after authorization. Refresh the top-up history on the Billing screen, and pay again only if this transaction is not present, so you do not pay the same amount twice.
• It still does not work. If only Naver Pay is blocked, keep the payment screen open and switch methods. On the won screen, KakaoPay, PAYCO, Samsung Pay, and domestic cards are available; cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Link are available on any screen. Kunavo does not accept Toss Pay.

Automatic top-up is available only with cards and Link

Stripe는 네이버페이를 1회 결제와 정기 결제를 모두 지원하는 수단으로 적고 있습니다(Stripe Korean payment guidance, October 3, 2026 확인). 하지만 잔액이 기준 아래로 내려가면 자동으로 채우는 Kunavo의 자동 충전은 저장한 카드나 Link로만 결제하므로, 네이버페이로는 켤 수 없습니다. 네이버페이로 충전한다면 잔액이 떨어지기 전에 매번 직접 충전하고, 자동 충전이 필요하면 카드를 따로 저장해 켜세요.

Refunds

Kunavo evaluates refunds case by case; request one at support@kunavo.com. By default, we return the amount to your Kunavo balance, and a Stripe refund is also possible on request (billing documentation).

• 365-day deadline. Stripe는 한국 결제 수단의 환불을 결제일로부터 365일 안에만 받고, 부분 환불도 지원합니다. 구매자가 결제 분쟁을 제기할 수 있는 기간도 결제일로부터 365일입니다(Stripe Korean payment guidance).
• Refund at the original exchange rate. 원화로 낸 결제는 원래 결제와 같은 환율로 원화로 환불되므로, 전액 환불이면 낸 원화 금액 그대로 돌아옵니다(Stripe Adaptive Pricing documentation).
• Timing on the Naver Pay side. 네이버페이는 가맹점 결제를 취소하면 신용·체크카드는 취소 완료일부터 3~5영업일, 머니는 즉시 재충전, 포인트는 즉시 재적립된다고 안내합니다(Naver Pay refund information). Stripe를 거친 결제의 환불이 어느 재원으로 어떻게 돌아가는지는 확인하지 못했습니다.
• Documentation. Regardless of what you used to pay within Naver Pay, Kunavo does not issue tax invoices or cash receipts. The remaining record is the top-up line in the Billing screen ledger.

Making the first call with your topped-up balance

Once the balance appears, create a key beginning with sk-kn- in the API Keys screen. The key is shown only once immediately after creation, so copy it right away. Claude Sonnet 5 costs $1.40 per 1M input tokens and $7.00 for output; Claude Haiku 4.5, intended for lighter tasks, costs $0.70 per 1M input tokens.
