How Claude payments with Samsung Pay work depends on what you are paying for. claude.ai Pro·Max를 웹에서 구독하면 Anthropic은 신용카드와 직불카드만 받습니다(Anthropic billing FAQ, October 3, 2026 확인). 앱에서 구독할 때 결제를 처리하는 App Store와 Google Play의 한국 결제 수단 목록에도 삼성페이는 없습니다. 그래서 Claude 구독은 어느 경로로도 삼성페이로 낼 수 없습니다. 삼성페이로 결제할 수 있는 쪽은 Claude API and Claude Code run with an API key입니다. 검색하다 보면 ‘삼성’이라는 글자에 속기 쉽습니다. What Samsung Pay can and cannot be used for

The middle column of the table refers to paying with the Samsung Pay button; the right column refers to entering the number of that same card registered in Samsung Wallet. The answer differs between the two cases even for the same card.

“Samsung Pay international payments” is a different feature

‘삼성페이 해외결제’를 찾으면 해외여행 이야기가 나오는 데는 이유가 있습니다. 삼성이 안내하는 삼성페이 해외결제는 NFC 표시가 있는 해외 매장에서 휴대폰을 대고 결제하는 기능이고, 해외 유심으로 바꾸기 전에 국내 유심 상태에서 미리 등록해야 합니다. 삼성은 해외에서는 NFC 방식으로만 결제된다고 적어 둡니다(Samsung Wallet guidance, October 3, 2026 확인). 그러니 이 설정을 켜도 해외 AI 서비스의 온라인 결제 화면에 삼성페이 버튼이 생기지는 않습니다.

Kunavo 충전은 해외결제 등록과 상관없는 원화 온라인 결제입니다. 결제 화면에서 삼성페이를 고르면 Stripe가 한국 결제 대행 파트너 화면으로 보내 인증과 승인을 받은 뒤 다시 Kunavo로 돌려보냅니다(Stripe Samsung Pay documentation, October 3, 2026 확인). What you need

• A Galaxy phone that supports Samsung Pay payments. 삼성전자서비스의 지원 모델 목록에는 갤럭시 스마트폰만 있습니다. S·노트·A·J·Z 폴드·플립 시리즈와 국내 모델인 버디·점프·퀀텀·와이드 시리즈 등입니다(Samsung Electronics Service, October 3, 2026 확인). 아이폰과 다른 제조사 폰은 목록에 없고, 갤럭시 탭도 목록에 없습니다.
• A credit or debit card registered in Samsung Wallet. 삼성은 일부 카드는 삼성페이에 등록되지 않을 수 있다고 안내합니다(Samsung Wallet guidance).
• Biometric authentication or a payment PIN. You use it at the final payment step.
• A Kunavo account and $10. This is the smallest top-up tier, and even after conversion to Korean won it remains comfortably between Samsung Pay's minimum amount (100 won) and maximum amount (2 million won). The balance is prepaid, decreases only by the amount used, remains available indefinitely, and is not deducted for failed requests. For reference, Claude Haiku 4.5 costs $0.70 per 1M input tokens.

Samsung Pay-specific limit: 2 million won per transaction, one-time payments only

• From 100 won to 2 million won per transaction. Stripe 결제 화면에서 삼성페이로 받을 수 있는 금액의 범위입니다(Stripe Samsung Pay documentation, October 3, 2026 확인). Kunavo 충전 단계 중 $10·$100·$1,000는 환전 수수료를 더한 원화 금액으로도 이 범위 안에 들어갑니다. $5,000는 원화로 200만 원을 훨씬 넘어 삼성페이로는 낼 수 없으니, 카드·국내 카드·Link로 결제해야 합니다.
• It cannot be saved and charged again. Stripe는 삼성페이를 결제 모드에서만 지원하고 설정 모드와 구독 모드는 지원하지 않습니다(Stripe Samsung Pay documentation). Stripe의 한국 결제 수단 표에서도 삼성페이는 PAYCO와 함께 일회성 결제만 지원합니다(Stripe Korean payment guidance). 그래서 삼성페이 충전은 매번 직접 합니다.
• Automatic top-ups support cards or Link only. Samsung Pay cannot be saved, so it cannot be connected to Kunavo automatic top-ups (the feature that replenishes the balance when it falls below a specified amount); this feature can be enabled only with a saved card or Link. The same Stripe table also supports recurring payments for Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, and domestic cards, but Kunavo automatic top-ups do not use those methods either.

Top up the Claude API with Samsung Pay on Kunavo

1. Create an account

Create an account with a Google account or email address on the sign-up page. You choose the payment method when topping up, so there is no need to open Samsung Wallet at this stage.

2. Choose a tier within 2 million won

The top-up amounts on the Billing screen are shown in dollars, and the amount in Korean won is determined on the next screen. This is the amount compared with the Samsung Pay limit. Among the current tiers, the amount payable with Samsung Pay is $10·$100·$1,000, and with the bonus added, it is $100 balance after topping up $110, $1,000 balance after topping up $1,200. Large tiers may be locked for new accounts until the first payment is confirmed, so starting with $10 is faster.

3. Distinguish “Samsung Pay” from “Domestic card → Samsung Card” when choosing

4. Approve in Samsung Wallet

삼성페이를 누르면 앞에서 말한 Stripe 파트너 화면으로 넘어갑니다. 삼성의 온라인 결제 안내를 기준으로 하면, 휴대폰에서 열었을 때는 금액을 확인하고 지문·얼굴 같은 생체 인증이나 결제 비밀번호로 끝납니다. PC에서 열었을 때는 삼성 월렛에 가입한 생년월일과 휴대폰 번호를 넣고, 휴대폰에 온 푸시 알림을 눌러 승인합니다(Samsung Wallet payment guidance, October 3, 2026 확인). 다만 이건 삼성의 일반 안내이고, Stripe 파트너 화면이 PC에서 정확히 이 순서인지는 확인하지 못했습니다. 승인이 끝나면 Kunavo로 돌아옵니다.

5. Use the topped-up balance with an API key

On the Billing screen you returned to, check whether the balance has increased. If the number updates slowly, refresh to confirm it; do not click the payment button again. Then create a key beginning with sk-kn- under Key management (API Keys). To run Claude Code using your Samsung Pay balance, enter the Kunavo URL and key as shown below and pin the model.

How currency-conversion fees affect the 2 million won limit

When Samsung Pay is missing or payment fails

• The Samsung Pay button itself is missing from the list. If the amount is shown in $, the checkout is not in Korean won. Turn off any overseas VPN, close the checkout page, and reopen it from the Billing screen. If you manually changed the currency to $, switch it back to ₩ and the button will reappear.
• The amount exceeds 2 million won. This exceeds Samsung Pay's Stripe limit. Choose from $10·$100·$1,000, or pay for a larger tier by card, domestic card, or Link.
• The card cannot be registered in Samsung Wallet. Use another method on the same Korean-won checkout page. For domestic card, choose the card issuer and authenticate in the issuer's app; Naver Pay, PAYCO, and Kakao Pay are also available on the same page.
• It is an iPhone or a phone from another manufacturer. Samsung Pay works only on Galaxy smartphones included in the supported-model list. Choose Apple Pay, Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, PAYCO, or a domestic card.
• The push notification does not arrive on the PC, or the process is stuck on the approval screen. Check that the date of birth and phone number match those registered with Samsung Wallet, and that the phone is powered on. Before paying again, check the Billing screen to see whether the balance has already increased. If you make several attempts in a short period, Kunavo will not accept new top-ups for several hours for security reasons, so one retry is sufficient.

Refunds and documentation

• The remaining balance is returned to the original payment method. When you close your account, unused balance is returned to the payment method used for the initial payment after payment-processing fees are deducted; therefore, an amount topped up with Samsung Pay is returned as a Samsung Pay payment. Amounts already used for API calls are not refunded (Kunavo Terms of Service).

What you can and cannot choose instead of Samsung Pay
