OpenAI API and BLIK: what OpenAI accepts and how to pay for GPT in zloty without a card

You cannot pay for the OpenAI API with BLIK. OpenAI Help states that API credits can be purchased only in US dollars (USD) and only with a standard credit or debit card, excluding prepaid cards (checked 3 października 2026). At OpenAI, BLIK applies to subscriptions: since July 2026, you can use it to pay for ChatGPT Plus billed directly by OpenAI if your bank is among the eight supporting recurring BLIK payments, but ChatGPT and the API are billed separately, so that subscription does not include the API. You can pay for GPT models through the API with BLIK in złoty through Kunavo, an independent gateway compatible with the OpenAI API that is neither OpenAI nor its partner: you top up a prepaid balance from $10, the Stripe checkout page shows the amount in złoty, the balance does not expire, and the same key also supports Claude models. This top-up does not purchase ChatGPT Plus or add funds to your OpenAI account. Prices and payment methods checked 3 października 2026.

Short answer: what can be paid with BLIK

OpenAI has two separate billing systems: the ChatGPT subscription and API credits. BLIK applies only to the first.

• ChatGPT Plus billed directly by OpenAI: yes, at eight banks. Czy BLIK pojawia się też przy innych planach (Go, Pro, Business), tego nie sprawdzaliśmy.
• Subscription in the ChatGPT app on iPhone or Android: the store decides. Subskrypcją kupioną w aplikacji ChatGPT na iOS lub Androida zarządza App Store albo Google Play (OpenAI Help, sprawdzone 3 października 2026), a według Spider's Web (16 lipca 2026) BLIK tego nie zmienia. Na iPhonie BLIK pozwala jedynie zasilić środkami konto Apple, a nie zapłacić bezpośrednio (Apple help); na Androidzie polski Google Play ma BLIK i PayPal na liście metod (Google Play help). Subskrypcji ChatGPT w sklepach pod tym kątem nie testowaliśmy, więc ostatecznie rozstrzyga okno zakupu w sklepie.
• OpenAI API credits (platform.openai.com): no. Pomoc OpenAI podaje, że zakup środków na API jest obecnie możliwy tylko w USD (article about multi-currency payments), a do zakupu kredytów API nie można używać kart przedpłaconych, tylko standardowych kart kredytowych lub debetowych (article about declined cards), oba sprawdzone 3 października 2026. Sam BLIK nie pasuje zresztą do rachunku w dolarach: OpenAI przyjmuje go za ChatGPT Plus przez Stripe, a w Stripe BLIK działa wyłącznie w złotych (Stripe documentation).
• GPT models through the API in Kunavo: yes. When the Stripe checkout page shows the amount in złoty, BLIK is listed among the payment methods. You pay Kunavo, not OpenAI: the money goes to a prepaid balance, from which charges for GPT and Claude tokens are deducted.

Why BLIK from ChatGPT Plus does not work for the API

Bo to dwa różne rozliczenia. OpenAI pisze, że ChatGPT i platforma API mają osobne systemy rozliczeń, a korzystanie z API jest rozliczane oddzielnie od subskrypcji ChatGPT (OpenAI Help, sprawdzone 3 października 2026). Abonament Plus, niezależnie od tego, czym go opłacasz, nie zawiera żadnych środków na API.

If you prefer to pay OpenAI directly

If you have a standard credit or debit card that works for international payments, purchasing credits directly from OpenAI is a reasonable option. OpenAI Help describes it as follows (checked 3 października 2026):

• Minimalny zakup to $5, meaning less than the minimum Kunavo top-up ($10); domyślna kwota to $10 (article about prepaid billing).
• Automatic top-up is enabled by default during setup; turn it off if you do not want the card to be charged automatically.
• Purchased credits expire after one year and are non-refundable, unless required by law or contract or an approved exception applies. OpenAI also advises against treating the prepaid balance as an immediate spending limit.
• Przy zmianie metody płatności do API pojawia się tymczasowa blokada autoryzacyjna 5 USD, anulowana w ciągu 7 dni (OpenAI Help).
• Karta musi być wydana przez bank z kraju obsługiwanego przez OpenAI, karty przedpłacone nie przejdą, a niektóre banki domyślnie blokują transakcje internetowe lub zagraniczne (article about declined cards).

GPT models available with a Kunavo key

Jeden klucz Kunavo wywołuje poniższe modele GPT przez zgodny z OpenAI endpoint /v1/chat/completions. Stawki są w dolarach za milion tokenów; prawa kolumna to cena, którą OpenAI pobiera dziś (OpenAI API pricing, sprawdzone 3 października 2026). Calculated using the output rate, the models in the table cost 60–65% less on Kunavo than under OpenAI's standard pricing (without promotions).

For GPT-5.6 Sol, OpenAI charges the promotional price of $4,00 / $20,00, available at least until 21 listopada 2026; the standard rate is $5,00 / $30,00. Compared with the promotional price, GPT-5.6 Sol is about 40% cheaper on output on Kunavo. GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna have a context window of 1 050 000 tokens and support up to 128 000 output tokens. Models suspended on Kunavo are not listed. All models are in the pricing, and examples of typical request costs and the surcharge for requests exceeding 272 000 input tokens are described in the GPT API pricing guide (in English).

BLIK top-up in five steps

To get started, all you need is an email address or Google account, a banking app with BLIK, and $10 (the minimum top-up). No card is needed for registration or payment. The balance is prepaid: no subscription, no expiration date, and failed requests (4xx/5xx) cost nothing.

1. Account. Registering with Kunavo requires an email address or Google sign-in. You see the dashboard immediately, before making any payment.
2. Amount. In Billing, you choose a top-up amount in dollars, the same currency as the token rates, so it is easy to compare the balance with the pricing. You will see the amount in złoty in the next step. For larger amounts, there is a bonus: you pay $100, you receive $110 salda; wpłacasz $1 000, dostajesz $1 200 salda; wpłacasz $5 000, dostajesz $6 250 in balance.
3. Stripe Checkout. The top-up button takes you to the Stripe payment page. When paying from Poland, the amount is usually already shown in złoty, and BLIK is among the available methods; alongside it are card and Link, and on compatible devices, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The amount in złoty on this screen is exactly what the bank will charge.
4. BLIK code. Wpisujesz sześć cyfr z aplikacji banku i akceptujesz płatność w aplikacji. Według Stripe kod jest ważny 2 minuty, a na akceptację masz 60 sekund (Stripe documentation, sprawdzone 3 października 2026). To zwykła, jednorazowa płatność kodem, a nie płatność powtarzalna jak przy ChatGPT Plus: nie udzielasz zgody na kolejne pobrania, więc nie dotyczy Cię też lista ośmiu banków, które obsługują płatności powtarzalne BLIK.
5. Balance. Funds are credited when Stripe confirms the payment, and they then appear in Billing. If the amount is not visible yet, refresh the page before paying again: the second payment would be a separate top-up, not a correction to the first.

API key and your first request to GPT

Create the key at /app/keys. It has the prefix sk-kn-, and the dashboard displays the full value only once, so save it immediately, for example in a password manager or in a .env file. For a terminal test, curl is enough:

Alias sonnet wskazuje na Sonnet 5.5, którego Kunavo nie obsługuje, więc bez przypięcia /model sonnet, faza wykonania w opusplan i subagenty z model: sonnet kończą się błędem 404. How much it costs in złoty

Płacisz w złotych, ale saldo i stawki Kunavo są w dolarach. Różnicę pokrywa przewalutowanie Stripe (Adaptive Pricing), w którego kursie siedzi a 2–4% fee charged to the buyer (Stripe documentation, sprawdzone 3 października 2026). Na doładowaniu $10 wychodzi to od $0,20 do $0,40, a ostateczną kwotę w zł znasz przed zatwierdzeniem. Tej opłaty nie ma przy płatności w dolarach kartą, Apple Pay, Google Pay lub Link (bank może wtedy policzyć własny kurs i prowizję), tyle że BLIK jest dostępny wyłącznie przy kwocie w złotych.

Example (token arithmetic only): a chat request with 1000 input tokens and 300 output tokens using GPT-6 Sol ($0,80 / $4,00 per million) costs approximately $0,0020, so $10 is enough for approximately 5000 such requests. At today's OpenAI rate for GPT-6 Sol, the same request costs approximately $0,0050. In practice, the bill depends on the length of the prompts and responses and on how much is cached.

OpenAI or Kunavo: how to pay from Poland

Real BLIK payments have already gone through Kunavo's checkout: the first top-ups using this method were processed in September 2026.

Limitations

• This is an API balance, not ChatGPT. The top-up pays for requests to GPT and Claude models through the Kunavo API. It does not extend ChatGPT Plus, Go, or Pro and does not fund an account on platform.openai.com.
• No automatic top-up with BLIK. Stripe Checkout obsługuje BLIK na razie tylko w trybie pojedynczej płatności, bez zapisywania metody i bez subskrypcji (Stripe documentation), a automatyczne doładowanie w Kunavo korzysta wyłącznie z zapisanej karty lub Link. Kto płaci BLIKIEM, doładowuje ręcznie.
• The bank sets the transaction limit. For a larger amount, the złoty equivalent may exceed your BLIK limit; raise it in your banking app or pay by card. The amount in złoty changes with the dollar exchange rate because the $10 minimum is in dollars.
• No VAT invoice. Kunavo does not issue such invoices; in Billing, you have a list of top-ups with the date, amount, and status, and accounting questions can be sent to contact@kunavo.com.
• Refunds. Rozpatrywane indywidualnie według billing terms, np. przy przypadkowym podwójnym doładowaniu. Domyślnie zwrot wraca na saldo Kunavo, a na prośbę na rachunek przez Stripe, który pozwala zwrócić płatność BLIK do 13 miesięcy od jej dokonania (Stripe).

BLIK does not appear or the payment fails

The payment page shows dollars instead of złoty. Bez złotych nie ma BLIKA (Stripe), a walutę Stripe dobiera do lokalizacji kupującego (Adaptive Pricing). Winny bywa VPN albo proxy z wyjściem poza Polską: wyłącz go i otwórz checkout jeszcze raz z Billing.

The code was rejected or expired. Stripe odrzuca błędny lub przeterminowany kod od razu, a płatność niezaakceptowana w aplikacji w ciągu 60 sekund wygasa (Stripe documentation). Wystarczy nowy kod.

Bank refusal. The same documentation lists three reasons: the account's payment limit, insufficient funds, or rejection in the banking app. You can check all three in your banking app.

If BLIK still does not work, the same checkout accepts card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link. Before trying again, refresh Billing so you do not pay twice. Payment methods in other countries are covered in the balance and payments documentation.
